Want a more informative, hands-on experience while visiting The Serpentarium?
Guided tours involve being lead through each room and floor starting with the insect room where you'll have a chance to hold a Tarantula, Scorpion and large Cockroach while being told facts about each species. You'll then be lead into the main floor where you'll learn about some of the many animals we keep as pets and breeders such as Snakes, Lizards, Frogs, Turtles and Tortoises. You'll also get to experience a Panther Chameleon grabbing a cricket with its tongue from your hand!
Just before heading upstairs, you'll learn the main differences between snakes and lizards and why it has nothing to do with having legs. Once upstairs, you'll be introduced to our larger animals and get to pet one of our biggest Monitor Lizards. After telling you a bit about our larger animals we demonstrate a live feeding with our 6 foot Asian Water Monitor named "Splash". And finally we pull out a clutch of eggs from the incubator that, depending on the time of year (and luck), may or may not be hatching at the time of your visit.
Throughout the entire tour you're able to take unlimited photos, which includes holding and interacting with each animal brought out to provide an up close and personal experience you won't soon forget.
